mattglo737
Another one looking into new summers. I have the RE050A's right now, nice tires but not a big fan of the tread wear... No one has commented on these yet but I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's 225/40/R18. Any thoughts?http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Exalto+PE2
rexster
i think this is the correct link: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Exalto+PE2 Michelin makes a very good tire, but they tend to be pricey. usually what you get for that extra money is less noise and excellent steering response. I haven't tried the PE2's but I'm sure they are decent among their category peers, although they are likely overpriced. I highly recommend the Eagle F1 GSD3s. They are good in dry, excellent in wet, have good tread life and they're quiet. They only drawback is that they are a little soft so you don't always get excellent feedback/response. A little extra air pressure helps a little...
Gire
Eagle F1s are afavorite here. For a price point option, many love the Azenis 615. But its all personal preference. I love Kumhos but others wouldn't bother. It also depends heavily on what kind of driving you'll be doing and if you'll be taking them to the auto-X. mattglo737
I won't be doing any auto-X. I'm about 50/50 with highway and city. I like to drive aggressively some times, you know the occasional red lights here and there, and the on and off ramps to the parkway. Other than that I take it easy.
