08 radio?

Hello everyone, i own an 08 spec b. Ive got a wierd radio problem. When i purchased the car everything was fine. But in about 1 week there wasnt any sound upon startup, but would come back about 5-10 minutes after driving/warming up. And with every day after that the silence time increased from 10 minutes to half hour and now it doesnt work at all even after 2 hour drive. The display works, just no sound from the radio/cd/aux amd the beeping touch sound from the nav. Ive searched and couldnt find any answer or help. What im looking for is anyone here in the PNW (near portland) that can donate their working radio for 5 minutes so i can make sure whether or not it is the actual unit that has failed. Would hate to buy it to only come back to the same problem. Any help is appreciated, as well as any input that may help figure out what failed.

I have taken the radio out and checked for loose connections.

I have an extra 05 unit if you would like to try and see if the head unit is toast. Located in Seattle.
