camber
Just installed a damd d type steering wheel onto my 2007 spec b and found its rubbing the top cover steering column cover. I found on the net that this was an issue with 2007 legacy/outback and one fix was to bend a bracket in the steering column to move the cover away from steering wheel but that doesn't look like it will help in my instance. Anyone experience this issue and what did they do to solve? Thanks
WRX USA
I have an 09 Outback with a DAMD round wheel and I don't have any issues. Do you have any pics showing where it is rubbing?
camber
Experienced the issue found at this link http://vitalysmobileautodiagnostics.com/813/noise-during-turns-2007-subaru-legacy-and-outback http://m.vitalysmobileautodiagnostics.com/Uploads/Image32.jpg I had the same contact area at first. I adjusted this bracket and freed up some space along the top of the steering wheel. http://m.vitalysmobileautodiagnostics.com/Uploads/Image33.jpg However, when I rotated the wheel 180 degrees the back steering cover would hit the same area. Imagine the back cover of the steering wheel as an isosceles triangle pointed down, I trimmed the bottom part of the cover where it meets the rim of the steering wheel to pull the cover away from the column and that seemed to do the trick. It's weird because that first link makes it seem that if you can't fix this issue by bending the bracket, it infers you need a new steering column. However, I searched a ton and didn't find anyone with this issue except me.
