irish5156
Hey guys, I am looking at getting a used Subaru and have found an 05 legacy sedan that I like. It is not a turbo just the base model 2.5i. It does have 122k miles on it though and for the most part from what I have heard about Subarus are that they run forever but I saw two reviews online for that year having engine problems ( mainly the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor problems ) and i am curious what you guys think, is this a bad year for the legacy or is it pretty much safe to get it. Thanks!
Subieaction
05 being the start always had more problems than later years. But oxygen censors shouldn't make you run from the car. And a n/a is cheaper now and down the road. Turbos are not cheap to get or maintain.
PB007
I agree with ^. The car being n/a takes a lot of guess work out of the equation. They are solid cars and it's hard to go wrong with getting one provided it recieved the proper maintenance during the first 122k of it's life and wasn't in a serious accident. wurkenman
My wife drives an 07 N/A and I traded my 07 N/A for my GT. Just do a very good inspection on it. N/A Subaru's run forever. If you woke up today, you have another chance to do it right.
