dedma3au
First time i noticed this today that when temperature set at same level ( let's say 72 the driver side blows warm and passenger cold air. to make it same temperature, i have to set passenger at over 80 to make it warm. It is about 20 outside now. If it makes a difference i have JDM stereo kit so my climate control is not the one that came with the car. Any idea what that might be ? apexi
Sounds like the problem could be a partially clogged heater core, even though you still get some heat on the passenger side. When was the last time you had the coolant changed/flushed? I might try flushing the cooling system, and maybe using some CLR through the heater cores as mentioned in one of the threads below. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/temperature-ventilation-cold-passenger-side-winther-210932.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/hvac-issues-217655.html
Chappy5107
I had a problem with my heater system, except all of the vents were working except for windshield defrost. So I dropped the glove box to inspect. There are two electric motors on the passenger side middle console. the bottom motor controls the passenger side temperature. and the top one controls the flow, from feet, main vents, defrost vents. The temperature motor was operating correct. The motors are basically the same except for their accuating arms. I had read quite a bit and couldn't find anyone else with these problem, but it wasn't really that hard about, 3 hours start to finish. Went to a junk yard and found another legacy with auto climate and took it out of there. One of those motors new is around $200.00.
