snow05gtRI
BtSsm just added TCU logging / monitoring capability to their app. You can't simultaneously watch the ECU and TCU, but you can set up a car profile for either. Easy way to watch some of the TCU fields without needing a laptop.
kzr750r1
Considering buying a second transmission to rebuild and have ready. Main questions for the OBXT. Do I absolutely need to buy a 2006 OBXT assembly or will a 2006 LGT assembly be ok? For a daily driver is the front diff a benefit or a long term issue? I have 165K on my current unit. It's not going to last forever. Edited September 27, 2016 by kzr750r1
starionesir
90k on my original tranny. Only mod is hexmods valve body and so far continues to operate ok. No slipping or banging of gears. Been on dom 3 for the past 2 years. Later spool I'm sure is helping the transmission survive.

kzr750r1
Mine sat for two years. Seems to be ok still. Did a flush after the motor install. Also drained the TC while it was out and replaced the seal on the output shaft. Just plan on dropping the ATF once you get ready to fire it up and you should be ok. freaksavior
In. I've got an 05 with 148k on it. Transgo shift kit installed about a year ago (12-15k miles ago) Im sure this is an LOL question, but can the 5eat handle 400whp? Or are we talking about a guaranteed rebuild? The 5EAT is a JATCO transmission which was used in Nissan as well. The 5EAT was used in was an 03 Infiniti M45 where bhp numbers are 340/333. In the 5th gen thread ItalianLegacy has a supercharged 3.6R that's probably around 320-350 whp, but my guess is that's pushing the limits of the car. 400 to the wheels I think the transmisson will need to be beefed up. To answer you, it's not a guaranteed but the longevity of the 5EAT Will be tested that is for sure Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
freaksavior
Thanks for the reply. >The 5EAT is a JATCO transmission which was used in Nissan as well Yeah, I read a pretty decent amount into it. It was also the trans used on the 08 titan. I know it's pretty common to get 300-325whp with no problem, but i've only see like one 400+whp auto lgt. I would love to eventually upgrade from 850's to ID1000, E85, and a v52 to a Blouch 440xt, that's what I want but im pretty sure the trans just won't take it, or won't take it for long. Since there aren't many cars running that much power under the 5EAT it's really hard to know what it would do/what it would need. Its a transmission that's mostly found in the H6s but I'm unsure how much work would be required to get it to that point. My biggest gripe is the amount of power it steals. Upwards of 25-31% drivetrain loss in a non-linear trajectory. So the bhp will be almost 10% higher then an MT putting even more strain on it. Best guess is go to a transmission specialist n see what it would cost to beef it up as a just in case. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
