broken sway bar mount

Recommended Posts

During my last race, I heard a pop and a rubbing noise. Car was loose, but I finished the race anyway. I've been reading up on this and found it's a common problem. Is AVO the only place that makes support brackets for this issue. I'm going to weld the bracket I broke, but am not confident it won't happen again. Anything else available to beef up this area? Thanks

I believe Mike (m sprank) has said in the past that the fix for this is dropping the sub frame and rewelding as you plan to do. Basically any fix you do is just a matter of time before it breaks again from my understanding. The solution is the avo reinforcement brackets--easy install and at about $100, not that big a deal.

thanks all. I can weld and looks like I can get in there no problem without dropping the subframe. curious what problems m sprank had. I'll definitely get those avo brackets. might even weld them in. I'll have to see how it looks when I get the brackets.

I had a talented friend make one for me. The key is triangulation.
