SnowMongoose
Pretty straightforward question for y'all. I've got a 94 Postal Lego sitting outside my garage http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/SnowMongoose/IMG_20140422_171323_zps3e3583e8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/SnowMongoose/IMG_20140422_171348_zps47811c4a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/SnowMongoose/IMG_20140422_185855_zps8f9db8b6.jpg I've got an EJ20R + 5MT sitting in my garage. No IC (fine since I'm going front mount) Am in contact with the Iwire guy about getting the harness sorted. The internet has lead me to believe that I'll need the following: rear diff to match (4.11 I think) Exhaust (obviously) Clutch pedal assembly (wagon is currently an auto) Might have to modify the subframe Driveshaft What am I missing? USLiberty
Sounds like awesome swap, sleeper. Def need the master/slave clutch cylinders(wrx cylinders are the same but the wrx pedal set is different). I used some foil to make a template of the mounting holes needed on a turbo car to mount the master cylinder to. Being rhd it wont be so simple. I wouldn't recomend chopping up the subframe but I'm no engineer. Its hard to find a turbo subframe now days.
SnowMongoose
Ah, yeah, clutch cylinders, knew I'd forgotten something. Thanks!
SnowMongoose
Bumpity bump, just fishing for tips or corrections if I've gotten anything else wrong. Reaching out on local boards and CL to snag that diff, hopefully the old engine will come out in the coming weeks.
GTEASER
There was a Craigslist ad a few weeks back in the Fresno, California area, some guy was selling a turbo hood and cross member. Maybe his ad just expired and it will show up again soon in the listings. Sublimejoe
Hey man, I also have a rhd postal wagon. You'll need a rhd specific pedal set, hydrolic, an impreza or legacy one will work. Are you on the first gen forums? Very helpful! You'd be surprised how much will swap over from other Subaru's. PM me if you have any questions
SnowMongoose
There are first gen forums? Any leads on RHD pedal sets? I'd figured on just hacking/rebuilding an LHD clutch pedal. And I'm aware of your Postal build, it's the only thread I'm subscribed to other than this one!
Sublimejoe
Well shucks hahahha Yeah, here is a link: http://bbs.legacycentral.org I haven't had much luck yet, I have a wtb thread on a few forums but haven't found a set yet. There are forums from overseas too but I haven't been able to sign up yet, there is some sort of issue with the signup process.
SnowMongoose
Related note: thoughts on rebuilding or at least freshening up the new engine before I toss it in? Beyond obvious things like new fluids/plugs/wires that is.
Sublimejoe
The engine in mine is pretty much fucked even though it only has 100k miles. I found a decent EJ22 on craigslist and I am having it rebuilt before I put it in. Seems like a smart move to me, since the engine is already out anyway. SnowMongoose
Picked up a diff and a set of pedals to hack up yesterday. May have spent almost twelve hours in the car once you factor in a few other errands, woo Monday! Also scored a Zerosport ECU very cheaply off Nasioc. All that's left is borrowing an engine hoist, chucking everything into the back, and getting it to the shop. More than a little excited.
Sublimejoe
Nice! What pedals did you end up getting?
SnowMongoose
Ended up with LHD lego pedals, I don't see why with some cutting, chopping, and creativity we can't get them to work. We'll see how long that confidence lasts, right?
Sublimejoe
Hahaha, I will actually be patiently waiting to hear your experience because I may have to do the same
SnowMongoose
I'm not imagining it'll be the cleanest install, but that's not the point now, is it? I'm having ZERO luck sourcing RHD parts, hell, no luck even sourcing TT parts... so am getting creative. Upsides? Things like going front mount, we'll see if I end up keeping the AC or taking the easy way out there.
Sublimejoe
Ah damn. What are you looking for? I have had pretty good luck finding some stuff.
SnowMongoose
I'd been looking at TMICs before I opted to go front mount, things like that. You're already aware of the difficulty finding pedals

SnowMongoose
My buddy is moving his operation to a larger shop (2 to 5 bays, good for him!) Soon as he's got his shop back up and running, she goes under the knife.
snederhiser
Hello; You might try shopping on the epay united kingdom site. Shipping could be costly, but what do you figure your time is worth? Just a thought, Steven.
SnowMongoose
Hello; You might try shopping on the epay united kingdom site. Shipping could be costly, but what do you figure your time is worth? Just a thought, Steven. Tried that, not so much luck. I'm optimistic regarding the LHD pedals working with a little chop-chop action. Other than that, still pondering getting the engine 'freshened up' before I toss it in. Related note: holy crap scooby spark plug wires aren't cheap.
SnowMongoose
She's in my buddy's shop! Still (stiiiiiilllll) striking out on finding downpipes, black box of death, or a properly convoluted oil fill neck... but would it really be fun without some fancy DIY parts? Also, just got back from picking up some WRX struts and springs. Related question: options for swapping in bigger sways? I've found conflicting information as to which will and won't fit. (OEM options unless I can find an inexpensive aftermarket option)
