phildog33
The Map Sensor on my Stage3 Suby is failing. Had it for about 3-4 years hooked up to my Innovate SSI-4/LC-1/OT-2/XD-16 setup I called innovate and they said its not for sale anymore I found it in the UK http://www.innovatetuning.co.uk/product_info.php?prod=INN-0110&name=Universal-3-Bar-Manifold-Pressure-Sensor&model=RTD-MAP3 Can someone help with a USA part that i can replace it with? Thanks for your help P
Th3Franz
Why not get an AEM 3 BAR? -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
phildog33
Thanks, is that the $150 kit? P
Th3Franz
It replaces the factory one and can be read from the ECU. The Omnipower MAP sensor for the Toyota Supra is physically plug and play for the 05-09 LGT. The AEM I think you'll have to hard wire in. I'm running an Omnipower 4 BAR MAP sensor (Supra part) and it fit right in with the same pinout as the stock harness. You will need to adjust the sensor scaling on the ECU too of course. http://www.aemelectronics.com/3-5-bar-50-psia-brass-sensor-kit-662 http://www.omnipowerusa.com/product.asp?P_ID=164 -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
m sprank
AEM 5 bar is more the standard. That is all we use at my shop. Same sensor used in Motec kits that can cost over $10k. Seen far too many Omni sensors fail.
Th3Franz
Mike how do you know when the sensor has failed? Do you see any advantage getting only a 3 BAR or 4 BAR AEM for better resolution instead of the 5 BAR? -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
m sprank
Normally sensors are most accurate in the middle range. So, 5BAR seems excessive. But in all honesty the AEM 5BAR are super accurate. Usually when an Omni sensor fails it is because the internal solder joint breaks. But, I have one on my desk right now that just wont read properly. It worked for 2 weeks and then... caput. Car wont even start because sensor is so far out of range. Seen it too many times so I gave up on Omni. For what it is worth, Crawford only uses AEM 5BAR too (and a bunch of other race teams I know). phildog33
My sensor lasted about 2 years, just wont read properly consistently. Im plug and play into a line off the blow off valve. So i need that small nozzle style from my link. Can anyone recommend a replacement for that? Innovate isnt making that part anymore P
Th3Franz
Omnipower 3 Bar will fit that size vacuum line. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
