LegGtBK97
Ok so I live in nyc, I've been trying to figure out swap options.. and it's looking like the Usdm engine is 5he only option. But i was wondering If anyone had swapped with a jdm engine and passed inspection. If so what is your setup. The Japanese spec engines have better numbers for what i see so that's why i would like to go that route, if not any advice would be appreciated. . Thanks guys. Zues Marine
the JDM EJ25DE that I was running in my 1995 L passed emmissions with lower numbers than the original US one did, thats up here in Washington
LegGtBK97
Well I'm looking to do a turbo swap.. forgot to mention that part. would I have to standalone system or piggyback to achieve what I want.. I know they sell standalone that support dual tunes at the flip of a switch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
johnegg
the problem with the JDM engines is that they do not have the US emissions equipment on them. and so you have to adapt them to run without a CEL. and in lots of places, a CEL with fail an inspection . if you are going to turbo your car, swap in a turbo engine and do all the work at the same time. the ej25d engine is not a good candidate for a turbo, i do not think. but i do not know. read the stickies about turbo-ing your car. i personlly think it is not a good idea, but there are folks who do it, regardless of the expense and difficulty. you are much better off, imho, to buy a car that already has a turbo.
