lucas112
Hey guys i'm new to the forum and i need some help. I am about to get a perrin CBE and i was wondering what kind of power gains i should expect. Also how loud is it? and lastly what other mods should i do after i get the exhaust. Drift Motion
power gain = none if your stock loudness is relative get a downpipe
lucas112
If i get a downpipe first, what brand should i get? will the gain be noticeable?

lucas112
ok thank you very much. is a downpipe a good idea as the first mod i should get. i thought it wouldnt do much since the stock exhaust is soo restrictive. or do i need a catback first? BoozeRS05
Cats are restrictive, and there are two of them in your DP.. You should read/research stuff and things.. GTTuner
The rear cans and Mid to Y pipe are not that restrictive. Stock cans vs loud cans are only a single digit change on the dyno. Down pipe first, what year is the car?

lucas112
my car is an 05 gt, and i have researched this a lot, but it is much easier to word the question the way i want it asked and have it answered directly than to spend 2 hours trying to figure it out myself. I want my car to sound deep and have that subaru rumble, but i dont want it to be too too loud. i looked at the hks silent hi-power but the cans are a little big for my liking. Kw521
where are you getting a perrin cbe?
almostinvincible119
I have a catless UP, catless DP, and I have a test pipe in place of my resonator. I love the sound, its perfect. Im saving money for an Infamous tune, I was considering a catback, but I've heard the stock exhaust doesn't restrict power that much so I'm probably going to stick with it. jbrown
before getting cbe i would get an accessport and run the stage 1 map and then do more research, Reason being is perrin is expensive, i have a invidia quad muffys w/ cobb dp that are perfect if sound level is important. I wanted to go with a stock look that is not loud unless you need to show off a little +got my tbe shipped to my door 1300!!! think about it
rtbrjason
Get a catless up-pipe and a catless or catted down-pipe depending on your needs and state emissions requirements. When you install those, get a tune at the same time with either an Accessport or Opensource. This is considered "stage 2" should cover your need for increased power for a while at least. It depends on Auto/Manual transmission, but you should get 40-60 wheel horsepower and 80ish wheel torque depending on the quality of tune and dyno used. That is about 250whp and 280-300wtq vs stock being around 200-220.

EGT bung or not.

So which is the better of the two, flex or none flex? Pardon my ignorance but what is a EGT bung and what are the advantages disadvantages of the EGT. StoplightAssassin
Some guys like the flex section because it is easier to install without exhaust leaks. The tradeoff is that the flex section can wear out over time. The EGT bung is for your EGT probe. Since you don't know what it is (no offense), don't even worry about using it. You'll unplug it from the harness and do this: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/unofficial-05-06-lgt-2-2k-5w-resistor-up-pipe-131488.html If you have an 07+ LGT don't even worry about an up-pipe until you swap turbos. However, it is a nice upgrade for stock turbo 05/06 LGTs.
