I just did Deer Killer's mod, excluding step 4, since I didn't want my fogs on with the high beams. Thanks to Deer Killer and John M's detailed post my 2008 3.0R is ready for some show and snow. ;) The fogs now turn on with the parking lights and low beam and shut off appropriately when ignition is killed. The car should have came stock like this...really.

Thanks guys for your work.

There's a different thread for that somewhere

I really wish people would stop saying that. This site doesn't have a good search feature and old threads are impossible to sort through.

Why can't people just answer the questions? I'm still trying to find out how similar it is to do this on an 01 legacy.

I also said two posts later that I forgot where it was

Waking up an old thread, but my experience may help someone else in the future. I primarily did this mod (thanks a lot OP!) to not have my new HID fogs flicker my new LED high beams. Apparently this mod helped several people to fix this particular issue. Since I was not interested in having my fogs run independently, so I thought skipping to the last step (where you connect the two wires underneath the left stalk) should be enough for me. However, just doing the last step DID NOT fix my issue. I had to do the whole mod (from 1st step till last) in order to fix my issue and have the fogs run independently.
