AShoe
What is wrong with it? Sounds like a mechanic that wants some $$$ to me.
phuzaxeman
misfire on 2. couldn't find the prob after ruling out injectors, sparks, and coils. they said there's no clearance in the valves.
AShoe
I would try to find a reputable subaru mechanic in the local sections. It sounds like your mechanic is just taking shots in the dark. In all my reading on here I don't remember hearing about a missfire being caused by "tight valves".

AShoe
Hopefully someone with a little more experience with this problem will chime in. IIRC missfires in cyl 2 are sometimes due to the design of the intake causing that cyl to get more air than the others. A good tune might solve your problems better than anything else. Underdog
If your valve clearance is too tight it can result in a burnt exhaust valve which could definitely cause some misfires. A leak-down check could isolate the cylinder. The Crimson Dynamo
phuzaxeman
i believe the valve wasnt burnt but if the valve continues to be too tight, it will cause a burnt valve.
