New Member; New Car: 2002 Subaru Legacy Outback Sedan

Hello all; new member here and I have been browsing the forums for a bit and I am liking the cars that I see. Some very nice examples. I recently got a 2002 Subaru Outback (or is it Legacy Outback? I've always been calling it that) Limited sedan and I am very, very happy with it. It's comfortable and solid, which is what I wanted.

I myself am rather new to the Subaru world; while my family has two other Subarus (a 2006 Forester and a 2013 Impreza), this is my first and I am smitten with it. I previously owned a Volvo 740; it was a great car but unfortunately it had many issues with it and would not pass inspection, so it had to go. I've always liked the look of Outback sedans, especially of this vintage (though the 2nd gen SUSes are quite nice) and I am glad I landed on this one.

Now a few things; the hood seems to not match up with the left front quarterpanel; it doesn't bug me too much but I suspect that was done by the previous owner; it had not been involved in a wreck but something tells me the prior owner pushed down too hard on it to bend it that far. I'm hoping the hood can be rolled out rather than replaced. The prior owner also took off the fog light grilles; I'm thinking about getting a new pair but I kind of like it without the grilles, so I'm on the fence about that. The parking brake pads also need to be replaced as the car does roll back even with it all the way up. Since it's an automatic I put it into park as well but having both the brake and the transmission lock holding the car is nice.

There is a bit of rust on the car around the rear wheel wells and around the driver's side door hinge; nothing too major, but I want to get that looked at and unfortunately I do not possess the tools to fix that. The wheels are curbed and have some bad rash as well, but the tires seem to be holding on good so no real worries there yet. Maybe on down the line I'll get replacement OEM wheels. The rear bumper also shows some scuffing and checking, but again, nothing too major. The curly license plate was from an errant trash can with the Volvo.
