What'd you do to your FIRST Gen. Subaru today?

Cutting the phenolic works best with a reciprocating saw. I tried my 3" cutoff wheel, but it smelled bad... the shaping...... carbide bur bit.... on a high speed air grinder. I got real close the switched to a Dremel with a sanding drum just to smooth things out.

the material makes a MESS!!!

I recharged my AC with enviro-safe refrigerent. It is compatible with both r12 and r134 while working 30%more efficient. It takes about half as much r134 and is the same cost per can. It seems to be colder and put a lot less drag on the compressor.

that sounds like a good product, what's it's name and commmercial name? I must find out if available in Australia.

What kinda refrigerant you referring to??
Seconded. a reference number would be splended. i.e. r4a A565 etc.

Should be done with the gauge and illumination install this weekend some time, but the sensor install isn't going to happen right away, hopefully in a few weeks they should be fully functional. I will definitely post a pic.

Care to send me your beverage tray if you still have it with the metal part if you still have it and not going to be using it or reinstalling it?

Beverage tray is still installed and functional. Just above the gauges.

^^ You've got enough space to put a couple of blinkity lights between those gauges!

Gonna put a couple switches in there, one for the antenna up/down, and the other for DRL switch. I have the EDM glass headlights that have the additional forward facing parking/position lights that didn't come on the US cars, so I am going to turn those into DRLs as long as the fluting on the headlight glass doesn't make them look funny.

Looks great!

Question, I need to get a hub for my steering wheel, any suggestions? I have been looking at the NRG stuff, I can get the hub, quick release & quick release lock from them, but its all very pricey.

Edit: For Content! I came across three brand new OEM bumpers locally at a Subaru dealership so I picked up a fresh one for the wagon! Its getting there!! I cant remember what I have posted, so here goes!

Thanks! Looking forward to getting them functional.

I just picked up a lightly used Momo hub off EBay for $45. There was no way I was dropping $200 on the NRG stuff. Same with the wheel, used, but lightly. Unfortunately my doggie's toe nails landed across the yellow Sparco painted logo on the wheel and chipped out the paint.
