gpetrowich
1999 Legacy SUS 2.5 litre, automatic. Each day I back out of my garage and then shift to drive to pull up the driveway. I've noticed of late that there is a longer delay between when I shift into drive and when the transmission actually syncs up so I can go forward. Used to be I shift and immediately hit the gas and go. Now when I shift if I hit the gas it's like I'm doing a neutral drop and it peels out once the transmission locks up in drive. Does this mean my transmission bands are slipping?
Stang70Fastback
Exactly how slow is it?

johnegg
there is a known ''slow to engage'' problem with the 99 auto trans, and some of the 00s. some folks have had good luck with the TRANS-X additive. it works, give it a try. drain and refill the trans pan and include 1 qt. of trans-x. read this thread, if you have time. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87708&highlight=trans-x
