Racing Harness question

From looking around here it seems that the Schroth Quick Fit http://www.schrothracing.com/store/tuning/quick-fit/qf-wrx is the one that most people have used. It also says that it is a snap in fit for the LGT. I'm looking at picking up a pair of harnesses for cheap, but not so cheap I don't get a good pair. The other set I was looking at were the Corbeau 4 points http://www.racing-seats-usa.com/43001b.html. I could not see a discernable difference between them, and this is selecting the "Snap-In" Corbeau belts (removable). Either way, the set of belts I want must be removable for when I'm not doing AutoX or RallyX.

So I guess what i'm asking is, Any of you have experience with the Corbeau belts?

Get the Schroth. Without question. This thread explains why normal 4 point harnesses are not safe: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=254105

The Schroth is the only 4 point harness I'm aware of that addresses the lap belt problem with a 4 point harness. It's the only harness you should consider in a street car.

Use a neck brace. A basic neck collar will do a whole lot of good, no need for a full-on DefNder/HANS device with the Schroth harness. I like my Sparco Anatomic one: http://www.winecountrymotorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=55

Even with stock belts it's very useful and comfortable. There are cheaper ones that don't have the "anatomic" support in the back, e.g.: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=2120

We personally wouldnt recommend using any harness without a hoop and harness bar at the least. A CG Lock is safer, easier to use, and costs 40 bucks. So for 80 you can lock both you and the passenger down.

Problem with the Schroth is that if you have a 2 piece seat (separate head rest) you can pop off the top in an accident and then basically have no harness. Second if you are tall and the belts are pivoting off your shoulder then you run the risk of crushing your spine in the rollover.

If you have the proper mounting for the Schroth (ie quick snaps in the right place) then it can be run somewhat safely. But again we would recommend the CG Lock to guarantee that you dont get hurt in an accident.
