Another "dash" rattle fixed

I've read a lot of complaints about dash rattles. Here's one I just fixed yesterday.

Rattle sounded like it was coming from right in the center of the dash, or right above the instrument cluster. I tore the cubby out and poked around, and found nothing.

Finally, yesterday I just gave up and started cranking the stereo way up. Sure enough, the louder the stereo, the worse the rattle. I'm sitting at a light and notice the rear view mirror vibrating around...could it be?! Sure enough! I have the auto dimming mirror and the cover for the wiring was buzzing around like crazy. I stuck a piece of foam in wiring channel, problem fixed.

I would have sworn something in the dash was rattling, but the windshield plays nasty tricks on sound. So if you have the auto dimming mirror and a "dash" rattle, check the wiring cover!
