Moderators BarManBean Posted November 12, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 12, 2012 When you change the filter, make sure that all o-ring material is removed before installing the new filter or you will still have a leak! fishbone
The O-ring on the oil filter can sometimes stick and you end up sandwiching two of them together. You will have a bigger leak than before As BarManBean suggested, look for the o-ring when you take off the old filter. Make sure it came off. .blackgt.
Why is it leaking? Was it jarred in any way so that it came loose? Cut or old hose? My rubber hose got a hairline cut in it after my fender got smashed by a deer. Insurance wouldn't pay for it, so I did the damn work myself.
