I assume by 5 speed, you mean a manual?

I think low to mid twenties with good financing would be a good deal, but I payed an outrageous price for my XT, so I'm probably a bad person to ask. :)

Well, actually the car that i was talking about is my car.

Im in a tight spot on money, but havent checked to see how much i owe on the car yet. IF i cant get what i owe on it i wont be selling it.

42000 miles will be turned before the weekend.

I average about 3000 miles or so every 2-3 weeks. Its been x-country and back once!

thx for the input. more is always appreciated.

Since you already have traveled it cross-country twice, go sell it somewhere where you can get top dollar for it - like the Northeast or Northwest...Subie resale here is crazy high.
Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!

Unless you had a large down payment, there's no way you're not upside down on a 2006 with 42k miles. I assume you're talking private party. Dealers won't want to touch a manual.

You might try a nationwide search on autotrader.com to see what they're going for. I trust this more than any of the books.

Paid $25.5 K for a brand new 06 OBXT 5EAT Limited one month ago. Had a skinned left fender from wind damage at the factory. Perfect repair. Pics of fender before repair showed just paint damage.

I paid $24.5k ($1000 over invoice and $1000 below sticker) for my 2005 2.5i Limited sedan last August. I gladly would have paid a $1000 more for a OB XT Ltd. I didn't even consider them since MSRP is $30995, and I figured they were out of my price range. To me an off-road capable turbo-charged 5MT wagon is a VERY cool car!

My 2.5i is lots of fun to drive, but it's hard to pack lots of stuff in for our camping trips.

I'll have to drive a harder bargain next time I go car shopping!

That makes a lot of sense!

After reading stuff around here, I've been feeling like getting my '05 w/29k miles for $22k was a bad deal, despite blue book being $2k-$3k more.

Well, I'm in the Pacific Northwest so that probably has something to do with it.
