JoeFromPA
Hey all, Just installed a set of 24mm whiteline rear sway bushings on my Cobb Sway bar. Took some photos showing what they look like installed (untightened, though basically look the same afterwards too). http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae281/joefrompa/Swaybarbushingfromtheside.jpg http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae281/joefrompa/Swaybarbushingfrombelow.jpg The gap that's there is very easy to see in person and is there regardless of tightening the bracket. This doesn't seem normal to me for properly sized bushings - any comments? Joe
jamal
it seems that cobb bar isn't 24mm
JoeFromPA
I didn't realize a 24mm hollow bar could morph into a smaller bar
scoobyscoodle
Either the bar is <24mm or the bushing is >24mm. That is incorrect as is.
jamal
it's my understanding that the cobb rear bar is more like 22mm. not that hard to measure
JoeFromPA
The whiteline bushing pack came in a 24mm baggie. I was advised it was a 24mm bar (this is years after I bought them and after Cobb stopped selling them). Hmmm, now I need confirmation the front is 20mm before I put those bushings on
m sprank
Rear bar is 7/8" or 22mm. Front bar is 1" or 25mm. Use a 24mm Whiteline bushing up front (it will be fine) and a 22mm in the rear. I have a bunch of leftover "Cobb" (made by Hotchkis) 7/8" bushings lying around.
JoeFromPA
M - I'll check out what I bought from you when I get home. Sounds like I assumed the rear was larger than the front - I'll swap 'em around. S.O.B. 75k miles on my LGT. Number of times I've had my sway bar bushings off the car? I think 6 now. Such a simple part to take off, such a PITA without airtools.
