The Official: Fastest Legacy Thread (1/4 and 1/8)

Thanks :)

Trapping 110 would take another ~45 HP or dropping a bunch of weight. A 12.9@106 should be doable with some cold air. Stock clutch is the weak point for harder launches now.

should be low-mid 12's

490whp/510wtq 30r, ewg, e85 10.4 at 132mph

Any more details on this setup?

What model legacy as 10.4 @132 with 490 is freakish - weight would be around 2900-3000lbs yeah?

I'm aiming for 11.2-11.4 @125 with my lard ass gen 4 GT with 450whp

So I did 125mph today in my legacy GT

ET was 13.2 though - 2.76 60 foot time will do that

Gotta love lag and an auto that can't spool

Anti lag will fix that next week

Mick

wow nice trap speed. What turbo are you running?

If the weather's right I'll be running this weekend again...

Quick question - has anyone tried lowering the air pressure in just the fronts? I unload and spin them while launching, wondering if a little lower pressure up there would help. I tried lowering all 4 last time and it gripped like crazy but I lost some trap speed...

Fair point on the post count. I have been a member of http://www.uklegacy.com since it started many many years ago and I'm searching to find out if my Legacy is the fastest in the world on the 1/4. I thought forum members on here would be interested in my times and hopefully ill find evidence of a faster time to spur me on :)

Great forum, keep up the good work :)

Ill put the slip up later. I wish it wouldve been 12.xx but oh well. Maybe next time. Im still on the stock clutch so I think that hurt me a bit. Should put my in the top 20 though!

watching video, I see the following:

1. what's with the rev'ing at start? You're actually rev'ing as the lights change. Put it at 4700 or 5000 or whereever and leave it.

2. As you let off the clutch, bury the throttle

3. upshift to 2nd was about 6k rpm, upshift to 3rd was about 6200, upshift to 4th was about 6k. With the slow shifting you have, you want to spend as much time as you can winding the motor out. Figure out where the cutoff is, and rev to that every time. If you can add a shift light, you won't have to watch for your shift point

4. your upshifts are not very smooth (lots of blur from camera)

5. If you are shifting slow due to stock parts, rev the engine as you pass thru neutral to keep the revs up.

1. I thought I saw on here that it helps with launching if you do that cause of building boost while the rpms go up. Ill try holding at a certain rpm next year.

2. I thought I did that. Atleast that was my intention.

3. I was trying to take it up to redline. How can you tell in the video what I shifted at?

4. I dont know what to say. lol

5. I guess I need more practice going thru the gears quickers. On the streets I dont normally fly thru the gears very fast like I try to do at the track.

Ive only ever been there a few times and with the clutch slipping I think it definitely hurt me. I also installed a new kartboy sts when I did the clutch so next year should definitely be better.

Any tips are more than welcome.
