bluesuby
I have a 2005 LGT wagon with a 5 speed manual gearbox. I'm noticing that lately the gearshift is getting a little stubborn and I'm wondering if there's a maintenance recommendation for lubricating the shifter mechanism. The car came with the Subaru short-shifter option, and I've changed the gearbox oil religiously using Redline 75-90 NS.
BigBad
I have a kartboy short throw I put in along with front and rear hardened bushings and replacement sleeve bushings quite some time back. From time to time I go in to access the shifter mechanism via the console and remove and replace the grease in the cup at the base of the shifter along with disassembly and re-greasing the pivot sleeve parts are where the shifter arm connects. I find this helps. I use Jegs prothane grease same as I use on my ployurethane bushings as its very sticky, waterproof and lasts a long time.
