GuyGanj
Hi everybody, I have a noise coming from the driver's door area, its a constant noise wether at 60 or 80m it sounds something like a wave in my door. Any ideas, i'm lost. it has been going on for 3 weeks now, i'm at 7000 miles. does anybody have a similar problem? Thanks!
cbroo
When your driving try rolling up an down your window. I know mine does that all the time. The weather stripping probably gets air flowing through it.
twisted
it has begun pretty soon there will be plenty of threads about it its a chronic freaking subaru problem....wind noise from drivers side stripping...damn panzees just cant find a solution for it must be cheap quality rubber material/plastic cuz other cars without door frames dont develop it. BlkLegGt
Is it possibly created at the side mirror, at the flex portion (in the crack)?
kevjam79
It is your window gusset. It is a known problem on both of the front doors. Take it to the dealer and they will replace it. I have already had my passenger side replaced.
Guest *Jedimaster*
Do you have the JD rainguards? My car was quiet as a church mouse until I installed those two pieces of overpriced plastic.
motion_157
I guess I'm lucky that I only get the noise at 200km/hr...not something I want to tell the dealer about. Since I'm never going to that speed again, not a big deal..just had to stretch the legs.
Opie
Check the little plastic trim piece that runs vertically between the front & rear windows, we've seen a few that were not snapped in all the way causing noise.
GTTuner
I have the same wind noise around the front driver door mirror area. The passenger door is fine. My dealer ordered a mirror/A pillar mount, or gusset. We'll see if it fixes it. BTW, mine was ok until I hit 9k. then it started.
GuyGanj
Make sure that they actually change the gusset - thats what fixed it for me. first they just adjusted it which didnt work. now i'm at almost 19,000 miles with no noise.
GTTuner
I work for the same company that owns the Subie dealer I purchased from. In fact, I used to be the service manager for the Subaru store. So needless to say I wasn't too happy when they "tweaked" the gusset to try and fix it. (all they did was try to bend it in, dumb asses). I might get the part and change it myself, I hate other people working on my car. If not, it's goin in valet mode when I drop it off.
