to the exhaust shop we go!

Recommended Posts

hopped a curb today and totally screwed my exhaust, so i got an appt wednesday at the exhaust shop for a custom catback, Ive currently got the borla replica UEL's and int he next month should finally be catless thanks to subiekid lol, wondering whats my best choice for pipe size? ive heard anywhere from 2.25in up to 2.75 inches. I was running a wrx hks and loved the sound, but not the lack of bottom end on a 3 in exhaust, also, are there any benefits to a resonator on the N/a cars like ours? and finally reccomendations on a muffler? looking for as deep and rumbly as possible, while not breaking the bank, are magnaflows the way to go or no?

2.25" is the best unless you're running upgraded internals and push more exhaust, anything bigger and you start losing backpressure, mpg, and what little power you have...

i WOULD do a resonator of at least 18" to muffle a lot of the 'rasp' you would otherwise get, and for muffler, i used the vibrant 1046 and was extremely pleased:

you can run a full 2.25" resonated catback for probably around $300-400 out the door

idk, maybe its just the video but definitely not what I want. my buddy has a n1 on his car and it sounds amazing, but the 3 inch is to big for me to run.
