gimpydingo
So my UP heat shield is all loose. I tried wiring it up to hold in place, but it still shifts and I see some "knock" in all areas of my LV. Had been clean for the past several months. Maybe one are would show a bit, but not return. Doesn't look like I could clamp the ends to hold it on. So... Easy way to remove while still in place? Or shall I (do I have to) remove the UP to get that sucker off there? I know I'll have to wrap it after. Thanks as always.
GTTuner
Try a couple of exhaust clamps that will actually "crush" the shield a bit and hold it in place without rattling. Just a suggestion that may save you some time.
gimpydingo
Ahhhh to crush it down... I like it!
GTTuner
Its a bit tight in there.......and you will ultimately have to remove the pipe to get the shield off and do a quality job wrapping the pipe. So why not try? Good Luck!
gimpydingo
Yep, worth it for the moment. On a side note need to make a turbo blanket as well. Got the materials, just need to measure the shape/size of the turbo with some paper and start cutting/sewing.
gimpydingo
Just an update. I did get an exhaust clamp on the bottom of the heat shield and got it crushed down. Seems to be solid. Thanks!
