BeKnwn
Okay I have a 2000 legacy L auto I did a full exhaust with brola headers, random tech cat, and hks muffler I also have a straight pipe on it and it sounds good but when I accelarate at around 2500+ rpm I get this weird popping raspy sound comming out the back I checked all the welds are fine and I looked around on sites people say on other cars its a timing issue or a dead cylinder or maybe if I add a resenator would work because to much flow? Idk.. Any body have any ideas what its from or salutions on what it could be would be a great help its annoying and almost embarresing sound lol I would like to know what it is before I start throwing money into random things
AZP Installs
It doesn't sound like anything is wrong. On my RS I had a Borla header, stock cat, and Brullen cat back. It was loud and raspy. I would see if you can get a mid-pipe with a resonator in it. Having an exhaust shop cut your straight pipe and put one in will only be asking for it to rust out. -Jake http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. BeKnwn
Thanks for the advice would a resonator give it a little deeper tone to it? Plus you know anyone that sells a nice mid pipe with a single resonator that's fits a the L? All the ones I find are straight through for like the forester and impreza which are shorter and differant hangers right?

You may need to do the cut and install a resonator at a muffler shop. Just make sure to choose a good welder/shop to do the work. Mike

Hmm well, ive been wrong before......once or twice:redface:
AZP Installs
Well the stock is resonated, however I don't know of any aftermarket resonated midpipes on subie exhausts. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. BeKnwn
Thanks yeah I've been thinking there's a lot of stuff I need to redo on my exhaust so when the weather gets better imma just find another stock and cut out the first resonator after the cat because there's two just keep the middle one and redo the mufflers piping its a little weird plus I need new sensors and maybe a spacer on one of them and the cat that random made me wasn't an exact fit I had to squish it against the tranny just for the hanger to reach the bolt in so I gotta figure out how to move that over which was the first reason why I thougt it was making weird noises because of the tranny vibration going throug the cat but idk ill fix everything when it gets sunny thanks for trying to help lol
