mk6933
You won't be able to pop out any covers. You will need to remove your trunk liner or stick your hands on the side of the trunk liner and reach in and twist the adapter for the bulbs. Aken
Six pop tabs, two rubber stoppers and the ring around the trunk release handle later, and you can access the license plate bulbs!

Code
Or remove the two bolts behind the lic. Plate. Pop off lower portion trunk exterior. Pop off exterior light housing. Replace bulbs. Snap it all back together. Enjoy. "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder
mk6933
I never pop the tabs off. I just stick my hands through the side of the liner and reach in.
charlie_sheen
1. Remove license plate. 2. Remove two 10mm bolts underneath. Rear panel pops off, pull firmly. 3. Pull down black plastic light surround piece. 4. Twist each light counterclockwise. 5. If you need help from here, you're special. I did it last week, took 10 min tops great finishing product. cwindle07
I just upgraded the license plate lights to LEDs, and going through the trunk exterior panel was pretty easy. But, it definitely made some scary sounds:icon_roll
