TurboAWD
Just thought I'd share some pics of my weekend project on the wife's car. Last year I baked the lamps to get the orange out, and was really pleased. Thing is, we were heading on a road trip and I simply didn't budget enough time to mask/paint the lamps. So this spring/summer I kept waiting for a day I could take the front off, bake the lamps and get the job done. It's amazing how easy it all is the SECOND time you do it! Anyway, I used Duplicolor Wheel Coating (flat black) as a base coat, as it sticks well to smooth surfaces, then hit it with a few coats of black bumper paint, which resulted in a nice semi-gloss finish. Since I had it all apart, I replaced the turn signals, too. I had been using Sylvania silver bulbs - the one's with the bluish hue, which I never liked. Since I use Stealth Bulbs in my Audi S4, I bought another set and put them in the Outback. Much nicer. Anyway, here's the pics. I like the way it turned out. Wife's not so sure. Oh well! ripsweetness
Just thought I'd share some pics of my weekend project on the wife's car. Anyway, here's the pics. I like the way it turned out. Wife's not so sure. Oh well! General rule of thumb is if the wife likes it, it usually doesn't look good If she doesn't notice at all, it was a small improvement. If she hates it, probably the best mod you ever did. But if you asked my wife what kind of car she drove she would say a black one:rolleyes:. I think it looks great. Oh by the way the S4 is a sick sick car. Wish I made more money I would have an RS4

DK30RB
Looks good. I never really noticed that they were silver. I then took a look at mine and then realised that in Australia the lights are already black....Would it have been worth ordering a set from Australia? IzzHouse
Wondering how you "baked" the orange out? I have 2000 Outback and I want to do the same to the rears (they are orange and red). Either that or find somewhere that can supply Asian/Euro market ones that are already red and clear. Any suggestions? thanks Izz

If it included the projector, the Oz RHD low-beam optics would be wrong for our US (LHD) cars. '05 USDM has the less-blingy lights, which some have swapped for '06-'07 USDM. 06LOB2.5i MT, JDMRSB, GYTTs, HPS, LGT Mufflers & Leather Wheel, SubiMomo Knob, Inalfa Moonroof, Clutch Switch Bypass, DeDRLd, DeChimed, & Straight Headrest.
