Cynic
Do the 2005 and the 2006 have the same airbag configuration for the GT limited wagons? More specifically, do they both have rear curtain airbags which protect the people in the back seat? i know there were problems with the early 2005 airbags and that the problem was fixed, so that is not my concern. I also know they changed the door and seat "structure" for the 2006 and the safety rating has improved because of the changes. Thanks much, I've googled the H#ll out of it and get conflicting feedback.

StringFellow
The 05s and 06s have the same airbig configuration for the side curtain and front airbags. The only difference is they modified the front seat mounted side airbag and associated frame to address the crash ratings. The issue was associated with the "gap" between the torso and curtain airbags when someone small was sitting in the front seat. Smaller occupants had a tendancy to "slide" into that gap. They decreased that gap and made the cage structure in that area stronger. The change in the air bag configuration is most beneficial for smaller front seat occupants. -S
