sashadg1
I have a 2005 leggy gt and will be installing a universal double gauge A pillar pod. I have tan cloth interior on the A pillars. The universal gauge pod is black. I want to match it to the tan or paint the A pillar's black. Either way does anyone know of matching paint you can get from Lowes or Home depot..? I have a heat gun and reformed the pod and now fits perfect on the A pillar just need to paint it or the whole A pillar. I am just worried the dash is an off black color if I paint the whole thing black. Options here or ideas before I move forward Thank you, Scott
AkumaMax
Test out Kylon. They have some damn good color match paint to car's interior colors.
stoggy
SEM makes a product called Classic Coat: http://semproducts.com/product-catalog/flexible-coatings/classic-coat/ You'll have to find a colour that matches yours but I'm sure they'll have something very close. I've used this product dozens of times.
sashadg1
I stripped all the cloth off and will be plastic welding it on then covering with light splatter then painting. I will post pics when done. The paint I am using is close enough.
TheBlackPearl
Dupli-color makes factory matched paint in a spray can. I was going to pick up a can of their OBP color just to have for projects. You can usually find it at any auto parts store. Self proclaimed PNW Craiglist find of the day Champion, April 2014. sashadg1
Had some time to work on this pod. It is coming along just need to sand, prime and paint. FYI the pod was $16.00 shipped to me from Glowshift if anybody is interested. If this looks half bad when I am finished I will do a mini right up on it for those on a budget that want a little rice aboard your leggy. . sashadg1
I found a better matching color in satin instead of high gloss and completed the install. even then in satin I had to scotch bright it to get rid of the shine. I could not find flat which would look best. oh well.... Thoughts on my cheapskate dual pod project? Total cost on pod $22.00 bucks and 8 hours of labor approx. Half was trial and error though. I still need to hook up the headlight 30% dim, it might be bothersome on long drives, the A/F is constantly bumping around.
stoggy
Looks good for the price dude. FYI that SEM paint I posted earlier dries flat. You'll get used to the stoich bouncing around, trust me. I thought the same thing when I installed one in my last vehicle. Cheers.
