arlia101
As the title says, looking for opinions on these as a speaker upgrade. Deal on Woot, otherwise I wouldn't be considering replacing my OEMs yet. http://sellout.woot.com/plus/a-spate-of-speakers Or, after the link expires 9/21/12, looking at Bazooka MAC6502C 6.5" Camouflage Coaxial Speakers ($49) two woofers: Design: 2-Way Tweeter Design: 1" Dome Tweeter Composition: Aluminum Woofer Composition: Poly-Mica Woofer Surround: Rubber Power Handling: 6-100 Watts RMS Frequency Response: 80 Hz - 20 kHz Sensitivity: 93 dB Impedance: 4 Ohms Top Mount Depth: 2.25" or Bazooka RX5S 5.25" Component Speaker Set ($49) two woofers, two tweeters, and two crossover filters?: Power Handling: 50 Watts per channel RMS; 80 Watts per channel Peak Frequency Response: 55 Hz - 20 kHz Impedance: 4 Ohms Sensitivity: 87 dB Crossover: 12 dB Tweeter: 1" Woofer: 5.25"

cipher_nemo
If you only care how loud you can get your system for the least amount of money, then yeah, Bazooka is the way to go. If you care about sound quality, then heck no. See if you pass these tests... If you can NOT tell the difference on this test, then sure, go for it. If you CAN tell the difference on this test, then you'll want to spend a lot more on your car audio system.

arlia101
Sorry guys - I suppose I never even asked a useful question lol. I'm not pretending I think these are anything high-class. But - Are these any better than 1999 Ltd OEM? If so, I don't see how I can go wrong for $50, since I wasn't looking anyway. If not, well, then no question. I figured this was worth asking, as I've seen plenty of folks using Bazooka subs. Thus, any opinion there? Or, at least comparable OEM specs? Also, thanks 'Nemo - those were interesting. And thanks for the names, TehRicer.

And thanks for the names, TehRicer. "high class" is a relevant term. It doesn't exhist. The only person who's going to tell is if speaker A is superior to speaker B is YOU. Hey! RTA's aren't ppl! For $50.00, roll the dice. If you're not satisfied, check caraudioclassifields.org OR diyma.com ^I'd recommend caco first, after all, it is a buy/sell oriented forum. Diyma is great for technical, but there's too many ppl with big heads on there. Kina like how .com is

kongzilla
I had one and love the sound of it. For inner car, its great. If you plan to let the whole nieghborhood hear it, its the wrong setup.
