NormanAbsher
i recently purchased a set of gold rpf1s and after taking them off and mounting my stock lgt wheels that are powerdcoated black i realized i didnt care for the gold on my car.. i mentioned i wanted to powdercoat my rpfs and was told it wouldnt be a good idea cause they are forged and the heat may hurt then strength of the wheels.. is this true any one have any experience? any help would be apreciated.. ill paint them if i have to but would much rather powdercoat them... thanks in advance
ICEBERG1
I am in no way an expert but based on the information I read the heating process causes the forged metal to fatigue at an accelerated rate. My question if that info were true would be how much faster will it fatigue and is this more of a worry for race or high performance conditions where more stress is put into the wheels? NormanAbsher
I was just told.that you can do it but have to so it at a lower temp for longer.. so I'm gonna look more in to it.

iNVAR
If Enkei RPF1s were forged, I would've bought them a LONG time ago instead of paying 10000x more for Volk.
Drift Motion
Weird I just figured they were from the other guys I had talked to.. so are the powdercoat able.drift motion? I don't see why you can't powder coat them...plenty of "color'd" RPF01 around and those "guys" you talk to are....just look at my avatar...lol
indytruckboy
agreed with DriftMotion. not forged. and even if they were, you can still powdercoat them. that little bit of heat will not hurt them. you ever touch a wheel after a HPDE? yea. not to mention the thousands of BBS wheels powdercoated on STIs
