halli87 Posted November 2, 2011 Share Posted November 2, 2011 Hey, I just got my backup camera and installed it into my car. I got the feed powered and showing up on video 1. I want to go to a different input that is either HDMI or PC or whatever and put the car in reverse and have the camera automatically kick on. Is this a setting I have to do? because I have already wired a cord that connects to the back of my screen that is connected to the reverse lights. I assumed that this would work because the only time power is given to the reverse lights is when its in reverse . Deadzep Posted November 4, 2011 Share Posted November 4, 2011 the manual for your video unit should tell you how to automatically switch to the backup camera feed when you go in reverse. you'll have to tap into that 'reverse: on/off' sensor. if you're using the stock unit, it already is tapped into it and if you use the right video input, it will worked just like you want it to Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
