sleeper8406
I am attempting to go stage 2. I installed a grimmspeed up pipe and I am now working to install a Cobb downpipe. I finger tightened all bolts and studs from the downpipe to the catback and turbo. I torqued the the DP to turbo first, then I go to torque the DP to the catback and the pipes won't meet. To me it looks like the spring bolts are keeping the two pipes from meeting so Im going to try getting some different bolts at homedepot or something. I can't figure out why this would happen. Is the Cobb DP shorter than the stock one? Has anyone else had this problem?

lawl
the cobb DP is 2.5. it should bolt correctly used with donut gasket. i dont know how the spring bolts may cause the problem... perhaps a picture is in order.. FWIW i had the exact same setup. stock catback, cobb catted downpipe. it fit fine. make sure u didnt get an automatic tranny downpipe if ur m/t or vice versa. car for sale. PM me! schwinn
sleeper: Are you having an issue getting the flanges "close enough together" to mate? or something else? I had a space between my Crucial UP and the CBE flange... I had to use two OEM gaskets to get them to mate properly...

flipsubie06
so is there any difference in sound or performance wit the stock exhaust? bcuz i jus got a cobb downpipe but dont have an aftermarket exhaust yet but im jus too eager to get my DP installed. Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted March 31, 2011 Mega Users Share Posted March 31, 2011 Sound reasoning tells me that a stock exhaust will differ in sound from an aftermarket exhaust. You will leave a few horsepower on the table but that's it.

snow05gtRI
if you have a downpipe on without a tune, drive very easy on your car. good chance you're gonna break something, otherwise.

GET A TUNE IMMEDIATELY.
