iahtnoob
Just replaced rotors and pads. Is the metal bracket on the brake pad which is circled in yellow suppose to be in this position or is it suppose to bend under the brake pad end and out of sight? http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm92/iahtnoob/SL734414color.jpg
subawang
Incorrect. That is the low pad indicator. It should be positioned next to the pad. You can either bend it back to the original position or just cut it off.
GTTuner
That is the correct position. It is not a wear indicator, it is a return spring.

GTTuner
No prob. Don't go too hard on subawang, it's easy to mistake that for not belonging there. The first set of pads I did on my car those clips had me scratching my head for a few minutes until I noticed the wear indicator on the inside pad. ebpda9
never knew that. maybe that is why i go thru so many brakes
subawang
My bad, I wasn't paying careful attention. With all the brake changes I do, I should've caught that. On a related note, I wouldn't take my advice anyways.
