This has to be one the cleanest outbacks ive ever seen. Great job. You obviously have very good taste in style and seems very similar to something i could see myself driving. I own a 09 OBXT lets talk over some options for mine if you dont mind.

There are only 15 MY07-09 Subaru Outbacks in Taiwan, even Ferrari outsold Subaru Outbacks by a considerable margin.... so I guess my taste isn't shared by many locally

But if Subaru lists a Subaru Outback at $65K USD, I guess most people would make a run for local BMW dealers instead

Silver looks better. I'd like to see it dropped a bit too.

Already dropped 1.5 inch, currently running on JDM Subaru Legacy S402 suspension and KONI Yellows over stock springs...

To drop any further will require lowering springs..which will degrade the ride quality somewhat...

That is my car...world's first 24 pistons (6 pistons each corner) brake kit for Subaru Outback.

But I don't work for KIDO, I just buy from them.:p

6 piston rears? Holy ****! Do you have to keep a pallet of bricks in your trunk to keep the rears from locking up under heavy braking?

The front pistons are larger with 380mm (15inch) disc

The rear pistons are smaller with 355mm (14inch) disc

So the proper f/r brake bias is maintained.

That grille fits a USDM outback?

What exhaust you running?

Looks good.

Probably, but only to 08-09 USDM model...

And you need to do something about that goofy chrome strip on the lip of the engine hood

I think the JDM grille for 2004-2006 (A-C) models will fit 2005-2007 USDM pre-facelift models.

The JDM grilles for pre-face lift (A-C 2004-2006) and post - face lift (D-F 2007-2009) models look almost identical, but they are no interchangeable.

The USDM Legacy/Outback was face-lifted in 08 instead of 07 for the JDM/EDM models, hence the model year difference)

If you find yourself taking video of the car, get a shot of the 60-0 braking in cab of the speedometer. Never seen someone do video on that. I'm really interested in how it does. Can you feel a bias change? How does the abs feel? Does it engage too aggressively now? Basically, how has the braking system improved in your opinion? Same master cylinder and booster setup?

The stock brakes suck!!

Out of more than 50 vehicles I have driven, the stock Outback 3.0R brakes are by far the worst!!! It made my leg sore just sitting in a red light because it would require some pressure, not just the weight of my leg like all other cars behave, just to hold the car stationary if the transmission is in DRIVE.

I am 6'1 and weight 190lb. so I don't have skinny limbs...

And with decent rubber (RE050A) I could STAND ON THE STOCK BRAKES on dry pavement and it would not trigger ABS because the tires have more grip than stock brakes' bite. What would you expect when Subaru decided to use Impreza brakes on an Outback 3.0?!!

I took my car to the dealer complaining about the weak brakes at around 10K miles, the dealer ran a check up and my stock front brakes gave 235kg/260kg front (more than 10% imbalance) and around 120kg/110kg rear braking pressure and the brakes were declared fine and within spec. That dealer even let me test the brakes of a brand new un-sold Outback 3.0R and it had a even softer brake pedal.....!!

Since there is nothing "wrong" with the brakes (it was just poorly engineered), so I decided to go aftermarket....

With these new brakes, my car now stops with no perceived nose dive, the whole car sink a little when under heavy braking, but no more nose down/tail up affair...and the ABS still works fine...

The brake pedal is still super spongy, and the brakes respond like stock brakes (kinda lazy) but now there is serious bite if you press it beyond normal pedal travel.

My aftermarket brakes were just tested last month by the government inspection center (after 5 years and 40K miles of use) and it gave 380/385kg front brake pressure and the rear had 280/270kg brake pressure.

So my aftermarket rear brakes have outperformed the stock front brakes...lol
