David E
So this should be real easy, but mine is fighting me so some questions: '99 Outback wagon 1) What is the easiest way to disable the fuel pump? Not keen on dismantling the floor to get to the electrical. Must be a fuse somewhere, but I can't find it. 2) After loosening the hose clamps and tips on getting the hoses off? Thanks! 98LGTLover
You shouldn't have to disable the fuel pump... I let my car sit over night and did it the next morning and there wasn't much fuel that spilled out of the hose. The hoses get stuck on there pretty good. Just have to do a lot of twisting and pulling...
imfamousG
i just replaced mine yesterday and all i did was unscrew the clamps and removed then not hard at all:) and as getting the hose off i used some pliers and twisted the hoses not hard at all
monkeyposeur
Yeah, the FSM says to relieve the fuel pressure, but I just wait until the engine is cool and then take off whatever fuel hose I need to. A little bit of gas comes out, but that's it. Just have a catch pan under the hose.
silverone
also doesn't hurt to disconnect the battery
