Max Capacity
Having replaced the rear diff in my 05 GT and having replaced the left front axle in the same car. I can see where for the rear axle you need to drop the rear diff. It is much easier then it looks. Do you have PB Blaster spray ? Spray all the nuts and bolts that hold the diff in. I would think the process is something like this. break torque on axle nut remove 4 bolts from drive shaft remove two long bolts that support front of diff place jack under diff remove two nuts on top of diff that hold it in the chassis lower jack and rotate diff forward and down axle will pop out of diff remove axle nut and axle I could only remove one of the long bolts on my front diff support, I had to remove the two bolts that hold the diff to the support (vertical bolts) and tie the support arm off to the side. Good luck Oh you may need to remove the exhuast pipe too. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Cincy05LGT
Thread revival! I just replaced the rear diff and for the life of me, cannot get the passenger side CV axle to fully seat into the diff. The driver side was surprisingly easy. I've tried turning the axle to different positions and so forth. I'm trying to avoid disconnecting the suspension arms if at all possible. Edit: Got it in, just needed to quit being a pussy and push
