Failed OBDII

Recommended Posts

I just went for an inspection. Failed emissions.

Evaporative Emissions Control System - Not Ready.

Oxygen Sensors - Not Ready.

When I brought it in, there were no CEL's. I told him I used an AP to re-flash the ECU. He said drive it about 200 miles or so and come back and it should pass. Now I re-flashed using a map from PDX in which they said all codes are off. (Currently Stage 2)

On the way home the CEL came back on.

P0546 - Exhaust gas temperature censor circuit high input.

What is it going to take so I don't fail a second time, a new oxygen sensor?

Ok noob shot in the dark here... I'm pretty sure I found the EGT connector. It's a black wire that's about as thick as a pencil, with a metal screw at the end. Kind of looks like a spark plug. It was just tucked away not plugged in to anything.

Am I right? So that means I just bend the resistor in a U shape and put it in the harness, or am I off?

I'm assuming you got it to work? Sorry for the delay.

Just reset the ECU, and you should be fine to pass the emissions if the CEL doesn't come back on. It may not hurt to scan for codes, to just double check.

Just as you were told above, be sure the car has been running for some time. The cold start is what throws the CEL on catless up pipes to begin with.
