AndrewBigA
Saw this a few days ago as I was walking back to my shop. I had to go back & grab my camera. I offered to help, even called my friends tow truck company but the Fire Department was already on the way. This happened in the parking lot, across from St.Lukes church in Whitestone. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny1.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny2.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny3.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny4.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny6.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny7.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c17/triangle05/granny5.jpg I asked her what happened & she told me she hit the gas instead of the brake. I'm still wondering how the hell the car got all the way up in the air. I asked her how she got out of the car & she told me 2 ladies helped her, she slid down the seat & out the back door. The keys were still in the ignition when I got there. It's a good thing the old lady didn't get hurt. -A
Guest
Old drivers are like RE92. Accident waiting to happen. I'd say more importantly, it's good noone else got hurt. Steel fences FTW.

coxx
I start to wonder because all the old people always say the same thing, "I hit the gas by mistake instead of the brake". I mean, not to trash old people, it'll be all of us one day, but cmon. How come that keeps happening? "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! I'm the president...of hittin' the ass!" -this is not a political view it's merely a quote from a hilarious tv show.
Jerboa113
its confusing.. you have 2 pedals.. you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. just a theory... I saw a video of some old lady that freaked out at a carwash and stomped on the gas, she thought she was pressing the brake so she pressed it harder and harder. I didnt know camrys were that fast.. she wound up across the street in a ditch. It may be a video on here somewhere. coxx
the pedals are always in the same place. How can you get it wrong? "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! Jerboa113
reminds me of a joke my grand ma told me years ago. (I think it was her.) 2 old ladies are on their way to church. The one thast driving is talking away driving down the road and she runs a redlight. The lady riding with her says nothing she figures she just didnt see it. she runs another, then another. The lady riding with her says "did you see those redlights?" the driver replies "oh shit, I'm driving?" Guest
its confusing.. you have 2 pedals.. you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Pfft. Two pedals . Maybe you. I guess with 3 pedals, once has 33% chance of getting on gas? See, another reasons manuals are better...
Jerboa113
how many fleetwoods haveyou seen with a 5 speed? how many grannies do you see in lgts? 2 pedals.. I'd say99.99999% of the time for them. you're right tho, I think for an old person a manual would help them keep their focus. they'd have another problem tho.. rollback.. coxx
I see plenty of old folks drivin LGT wagons too & even more driving the regular n/a wagon. I'd be willing to bet money that 99.9% of them aren't driving a manual though. "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! coxx
here's another one a little upstate from my neck of the woods http://www.lohud.com/article/20081210/NEWS03/812100426/1019/NEWS03 The woman apparently stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake and crashed through Sue's Cutting Corner on Highview Road off Route 59, police said. How the F does this happen so often? "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! I'm the president...of hittin' the ass!" -this is not a political view it's merely a quote from a hilarious tv show.
