vermont22gt
Doing a 2.2 teardown & replacing gaskets and such. I want to pressurewash the entire motor before the teardown. Intake manifold is off, but the intake ports are plugged. I'd also like to wash behind the timing belt cover, while the belt is still on. Of course I'll keep the nozzle away from the idler pulley bearings, but will I do any damage to anything. It' s not a crazy powerful pressurewasher or anything, but I just want to get the engine clean before I tear it apart.

sub20gt
id say clean ur engine after... i was told by my mech that a pressure wash can damage sensors... and ive personally experienced that... he also suggested a steam wash, its more effective with no damage!!! autoboty2k
I always use brake clean and a rag when its all torn down, some people I know steam clean it when its torn down and then take thier blow gun to it. I wouldnt suggest pressure washing when its still together though, just wear gloves if your afraid of getting dirty.
