60,000 mile check up

Recommended Posts

It looks like you have a 2009 Legacy GT with an automatic tranmission, since some other people might ask what car you have. Have you ever done the spark plugs? Rear differential fluid, front differential fluid, brake fluid, pcv valve, engine air filter, cabin air filter, etc. Basically I'm curious to know the history of the vehicle.

My bad about not giving any info about my car...yes you are correct, it is a 09 automatic. I've only done engine oil changes. Hasn't had any of the services you mentioned above...save for the air filter which is a k&n and it has been cleaned once or twice

Attached is subaru's recommended maintenance schedule. From what I've read on here, I believe people have asked dealerships about the fuel filter, and have been told that you really don't have to touch it ever. I think you have to replace the whole fuel pump to do the filter, or something like that.

I don't know much about AT legacies, so I'm not sure how long you could/should run the ATF for.

In your shoes I would do:

-Spark plugs

-Rear differential fluid

-Front differential fluid

-Replace brake fluid

-Cabin Air filter

Here is what we do at 60k service:

On the AT you will want to do a drain/fill with a quality fluid: Redline ATF, Motul ATF 100% Synthetic, or Subaru ATF. If your car has the spin on filter for the AT, you will want to get an OEM AT Filter and put that on.

Thanks..and as for the rear diff being va2..( I didn't really understand what I was reading but thanks for the link) do I have to do anything special besides drain and fill?

Just a drain and fill.

Let us know if we can provide any of the top shelf fluids. We can ship out Motul for the Engine/Trans/Diffys if you need it!
