Heffernan
So over the past few weeks I have been slowly gathering parts to complete a full LGT brake swap on my Outback. Outside of the obvious, things like calipers, rotors and pads, is there anything else I need to make sure I have before diving into this project? I don't want to get half way through and realize I am missing something. Seems like a fairly straight forward process, but I just want to double check before I start. Thanks! whitetiger
should be a piece of cake. remove rotors and calipers, then reinstall LGT ones. just make sure you do a good job getting all the air out of the brake lines.
Moderators BarManBean Posted September 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 10, 2013 The hardest part is probably anything to do with brake line fittings. Other than that it should be very straight forward. "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock
Heffernan
I'm assuming that I can use the OB lines....? I've heard that LGT lines are too short or something. I was looking into SS brake lines for LGT and was told they wouldn't work because of shorter length... If someone has heard different please let me know. N.sane
I used the LGT brake lines; I'm not sure if the Outback/2.5i lines work. Also make sure there's clearance between the new rotors and dust shields. I had to bend of the dust shields back a bit to keep it from grinding against the rotor. Heffernan
Yep, I used the Goodridge kit. Interesting. I guess I'll order them and if they don't fit I'll just return 'em.
