..It's tough decision really; the 2013 I read have much improved suspension, but the big wheel gap is something I prefer not having...sigh. That's why I love the stock setup of MB/BMW/Audi.

I hope you're not going Deutschland over this.

No, I will not jump ship *just* because of that; although they look and perform decent for DD use. Besides, I do have a German vehicle currently. My wife just prefers something more luxurious, that's all; it's my fault, since she's spoiled by me. :) I will, however, always have a soft spot for Subie...after all, I did have 4 since 98.

I guess it's more than just the look, but the feel as well. Little things such as the solid feel on opening/closing doors, the solid feeling of the knobs and buttons... besides, it's more subjective than anything. I agreed the Limited has good balance on both performance and luxury feel; but it doesn't give me the wow factor either. However, a vehicle at this price range with AWD, I admitted it's a sensational deal.

Does a 4th gen LGT's front lower control arm fit a 5th gen? I've seen someone installed an aluminum front LCA on a 5th gen, but I can't seem to find this parts anywhere. But it does looks like a WRX LCA..

Funny you should ask. I have JDM alloy LCAs on my WRX. The stock steel arms are identical to 4G LGT parts. I have two buddies with 5G LGTs and there are more alloy arms on the shelf looking for a home. On Saturday I'll be able to tell you if they fit / work or not.

Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs.

That's great! I will be waiting for your update.

The GH8 LCA did fit on the BR9 we were playing with. They're not identical but they measure out the same. Since the GH8 arms are the same as 4th gen Legacy items, the Spec B arms should fit the 5th gen cars.

BTW, swapping the front sway bar on the 5th gen is a pain in the ******* ass!

It's nice to know that. That's a great info to know. I agree with you with the FSB install. It took us at least 2 hours to install my 25mm Cusco FSB.

STI hangers are definitely different. WRX Sedan mufflers have hangers that are close to the same as the 2010 Legacies. They are not perfect, but they can be, ah, massaged to fit. STI mufflers, I imagine you need to re-do the hangers at a hanger shop, and I'm not sure that the flanges are the correct orientation.

Back to the 08+ WRX exhaust fitment on the 5th gen legacy real quick. I have a 2.5i and one of the many who like the dual exhaust look and someone on Craigslist is selling their OEM 08-10 WRX catback for cheap and wanted to clarify what fits.

I know that muffler hangers will need to be welded to the passenger side and that the legacy is a longer car than the WRX but can I use the entire cat-back? I suppose you could salvage the Y-pipe to fit my mid-pipe and bolt the wrx axle-back to it. There doesn't seem to be a flange connecting the wrx mid-pipe to the wrx Y-pipe for an easy swap onto mine. What do you think? If anyone has a thread for this exact swap let me know since I couldn't find one.

I can't comment on fitment but prepare for some noise. Turbo exhaust on n/a car teaches you how effective the 'rotary muffler' is!

Yeah I can only find OEM exhaust in the forest, to bad aftermarket exhaust doesn't grow on trees... lol

That's the pic from the craigslist ad. It includes the two OEM axle-back mufflers as well.

Even with just the OEM wrx axle-back on a N/A?

Yes. I used to run a GDB STi exhaust on a GF wagon with EJ253 swap. It was quite a bit louder than on the donor car. Sounded good, not raspy or anything, but louder than the STi.

I've seen a few GH8 CBEs on 5dr 2.5i Imprezas. The owners say they are louder than stock.

The turbine does a really good job of chopping up sound waves and because of that, the muffler can be less restrictive.

Thanks, I wouldn't mind a bit louder. Just not as loud as most of the aftermarket exhaust set ups so this sounds like what I'm looking for anyway.

Not entirely sure the flanges will be in the right place for your car, but you can give it a try. The piping is not silly large for an n/a application by any means.
