Paint for OEM alloys

The snow tires should be good to come off this weekend. I've noticed a little bubbling of the paint near the center caps on my factory alloys (5 spoke LGT wagon) which is likely a small area of rust. My plan is to use the Dremel with a few of those barrel-shaped sandpaper attachments to remove the paint/rust. I need some input regarding primer (needed or not) and something close to the factory color in either spray or touch-up bottle. Reputable brand name would be nice, as well as availability in a chain auto store (Advance, Autozone, Pep Boys).

My other tires are on a second set of wheels, so there's no hurry to get this done.

For proper DIY wheel refinish try the Germany based Wurth products. They're available here in the states at better Automotive Paint supply jobbers or online.

Their silver is a direct match to the VW & Porsche silver metallic used on those steel wheels.

Cheers, Mike
