Yaz Posted March 25, 2009 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Hi Guys, Out of curiousity I've been seeing alot of DIY grills and stuff, curious what I would have to do if I wanted to make a grill. I saw a few tutorials on how to take the grill out and clear the OEM design out, so if I did that and wanted to replace it w/ a custom design should I fabricate it with fiberglass or plastic or is there a better/easier material to work with that I could use? AShoe Posted March 25, 2009 Share Posted March 25, 2009 That is a question that is more related to your skills, comfort level, and what results you want. IMHO fiberglass should only be used for structure and support on custom bodywork. There are some nice plastic resins made by 3m and some other companies that flex and hold paint much better if they take a hit. Bondo is a terrible product. It will crack over time no matter what!!!
