DIY Fabricating?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Out of curiousity I've been seeing alot of DIY grills and stuff, curious what I would have to do if I wanted to make a grill. I saw a few tutorials on how to take the grill out and clear the OEM design out, so if I did that and wanted to replace it w/ a custom design should I fabricate it with fiberglass or plastic or is there a better/easier material to work with that I could use?

kinda depends on what design you want to follow, no?
258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

That is a question that is more related to your skills, comfort level, and what results you want. IMHO fiberglass should only be used for structure and support on custom bodywork. There are some nice plastic resins made by 3m and some other companies that flex and hold paint much better if they take a hit. Bondo is a terrible product. It will crack over time no matter what!!! If you have a design in mind people will be able to help you more. GL
