Rallitek 4EAT Trans Mount

Recommended Posts

So I think I installed my Rallitek 4EAT Transmission Mount Insert properly today. But I don't think I did.

This is the mount I installed today

This is what my stock transmission mounts look like (2 of them)

If you look at the pictures on Ralliteks page the mounts are way different.

They look like this one

This is how I put it together.

Only their website it says it works with the 96 legacy. But the way I installed it doesn't seem right. It was a pain in the ass to install too (getting bolt holes lined up).

Anyone know the deal here?

Aftermarket poly bushings are not always the same style as oem...and often a VERY tight fit.

Ive never installed your bushing before, so maybe someone who has can chime in. I want to say its fine but im not 100% sure

Okay so I spent 5 hours today running around getting parts to convert to the one piece transmission mount/crossmember.

Got the crossmemeber and the one piece transmission mount. Put my insert in and went to work under the car. Once I got under there I removed the 2 piece mount and Crossmember and went to drop the new Crossmember in w/ the transmission mount on it.

Put in the Crossmember bolts and it looked really short. I let the transmission drop all the way to see if it would rest on the new mount but it wouldnt. There was about 2-3 inch gap.

So I took it out and started looking. I am pretty sure the mount I got is correct. But I am not 100% about the Crossmember. It's an automatic crossmember (or so I think?).

So I installed the stock setup back in and when I went to do that I went to put the bolts back into the mount holes that connect to the transmission and I am pretty sure I cross threaded the threads in the transmission. So I need some ideas on what to do with that. And what is the deal with the crossmember I got.

New on the bottom

No one really gets down to the nitty gritty on their cars here I see. Anyways

I couldn't find a part number on either of the Cross Members. But I was looking at the FSM. And the pictures for the outback Cross Member don't have such a big hump. The legacy's do.

So I guess I got a Cross Member from an Outback. I didn't know there would be a difference.

I might have one. I'll have to look tomorrow or Friday. If I do have it, pay for shipping and its yours
