itsfrancis6
I just bought 2 blackvue cameras and it will arrive soon for my weekend project. I have a 2014 legacy with the homelink rear view mirror and a 2013 outback (not a legacy but pretty similar schematics) with a regular rear view mirror. I believe that I should be able to tap my homelink mirror so my camera turns on/off with the car. Is that possible? Is there wiring / fuse schematic that I can reference? For the outback, I think I'll have to use the fuse taps. Is there a fuse schematic that I can reference for that? Thanks in advance.
capttris
There are absolutely 12V + - in the ceiling console where the forward cabin lights are. I tapped in there for my radar detector years ago, and it is powered by ign. on. (not constant) if that's what you are looking for. I believe most dash cams want/need power all of the time, to record motion/shock events when the car is off/parked.
YeuEmMaiMai
I used a removable installation so I can take my dash cam to the next car if something happens to this one....
