GirlyGearhead
So, I just acquired my first Subaru Legacy, it is a 1996 AWD Subaru Postal 2.2L SOHC right hand drive for pretty cheap, I had to take it for some money owed to me, and now I kind of want to do something with it. It runs, I put a timing kit in it about 3 months ago before it was mine, the issues are as follows, I get an "OIL" light when it idles, so I am assuming that is low oil pressure, may or may not be an easy fix. The issue that concerns me is the automatic transmission is not going into overdrive, I will be doing a complete engine and transmission swap, but I need to patch this one up for the time being, until i decide what direction to go with the engine ( turbo swap, DOHC swap, SOHC rebuild Etc. ) and weather I am going to do a manual transmission swap or keep the automatic. I suppose the question is about those problems, and also if there is anything that can be done to the SOHC/Automatic combination in order to give it a little more go go go.
